List of Cyrillic fonts

Cyrillic fonts are made for a very large number of languages since most languages in the former Soviet Union were "given" a Cyrillic alphabet if they did not have a well established method of writing.
They are divided into the following main groups:

• Slavonic - the so called standard Cyrillic
• Asian Cyrillic (Uralic, Caucasian, Altaic and Iranian)
The Extended Cyrillic alphabet caters for all of the Cyrillic languages.

There are also some special alphabets:

• Church Cyrillic - old Cyrillic alphabet used in medieval writings
• Russian Accented fonts used for teaching children to read by showing which syllables should be stressed
• Russian joined-writing as used in Russian primary schools for teaching children to write.
