What is EFF True Type Translator?
EFF TrueType Translator, or !effTTT is the first ever translator of TrueType® or OpenType® fonts, the most common font formats for Windows and Mac. It will convert in seconds any TrueType or OpenType font to the Acorn format. It will enable you to use all the fonts available to PC users, including thousands of TrueType or OpenType fonts available for free downloading on the Internet. If you get a copy of !effTTT you may never need to buy a single font again.

Free demo copy
You can download a free demo version of !effTTT application.
The demo version can be very useful for viewing TrueType fonts. It is the full working application, it will:
load TrueType or OpenType files
display the information about font names, copyright etc.
show samples of the TrueType or OpenType font
show tables of the font
but it will not
save the font in the Acorn format.
The demo version has a button called Register, if you click on it, fill an application form and email it to us with your payment details, it will become a full working copy without any restrictions.

Both downloads are zip files and can be opened with !SparkPlug.
Free upgrade
You can download a free !effTTT upgrade to version 4.10.
This is a completely new version
It is a zip file size 172kb readable by !SparkPlug. After downloading it:
- set its type to "archive" and open it with !SparkPlug
- drag the !effTTT icon to a directory where your original !effTTT is stored
- drop it there – upgrading is done!
If for some reason, the upgrade has been corrupted (not an unknown story on internet), you can reinstall your old version from your saved copy.
Upgrade to include OpenType fonts
In order to enable your TrueType translator to work with OpenType fonts as well, please follow the instruction:
- Download a free !effTTT upgrade version 4.10 following the instructions above for installing an upgrade
- Load !effTTT on your Icon Bar
- Click with menu button on the !effTTT icon
- Select Open Registration from the menu
- Fill the Application Form and email the resulting file to us. It will be securely encrypted and completely safe on internet
- We will post back a Register file which will enable you to work with OpenType fonts
