Latin fonts on this list are suitable for writing in many languagaes of Europe, Asia, America and Africa. They are called Latin because they use Latin letters plus some modified Latin letters.
Since a standard computer font can have only 223 letters and symbols (although more and more modern computers move to Unicode fonts with larger number of letters, their use is complicated by the applications supporting them) the languages are divided into groups called alphabets.
Here the alphabet does not mean Cyrillic or Hebrew method of writing but rather a group of languages put together by a computer manufacturer or the International Standards Organization.
Depending on the Operating System one uses one can hear about Latin 1 or Latin 2 alphabets or Standard or Central European alphabets, etc.
