EFF Cadet CyrillicCyrillic fonts are made for a very large number of languages since most languages in the former Soviet Union were "given" a Cyrillic alphabet if they did not have a well established method of writing.
They are divided into the following main groups:There are also some special alphabets:
- Slavonic - the so called standard Cyrillic
- Extended Cyrillic (Uralic, Caucasian, Altaic and Iranian) - the so called Asian Cyrillic
This alphabet caters for all of the major Cyrillic languages.
- Church Cyrillic - old Cyrillic alphabet used in medieval writings
- Russian Accented fonts used for teaching children to read by showing which syllables should be stressed
- Russian joined-writing as used in Russian primary schools for teaching children to write.
